A cosmic record in terms of sound, "Interdimensional" is pervaded by a sense of stasis reminiscent of Thomas Köner's isolationist electronics, but still characterised by the use of electrified instruments, analogue synthesizers and recordings of resonant metal objects. Unlike the previous albums, however, the typical dark experimental / post industrial sound of Sonologyst is filtered through hazy warping reverberations and infinite delays, which musically depict the intergalactic journey of a civilization in search of a possible future beyond death.

BEISPIEL - MUSTER






Faitiche presents Beispiel (German for "example", also suggests playing together), a joint project by Frank Bretschneider and Jan Jelinek. Muster is their first album.

Free electronic music, the result of spontaneous improvisations.

Bretschneider and Jelinek got together for their first joint session in 2016 and the years that followed brought more such meetings at Jelinek’s studio for open-ended musical dialog – at irregular intervals and with no clear objective. The improvisations were recorded in two stereo tracks: one track for Bretschneider’s audio, one for Jelinek’s. After each session, the recordings were processed separately, the options essentially limited to cutting and altering the frequency range. The nine pieces for Muster were selected from the resulting material.



FUZZTONES - HORNY AS HELL







A reissue of the Fuzztones' Horny As Hell.  Originally released in 2008, Horny As Hell was produced by the leader and sole survivor of the original Fuzztones line-up Rudi Protrudi and Berlin keyboardist Lana Loveland.   On this LP, The Fuzztones keep their fuzz spreading, although this time they are accompanied by a wind section that reinforces the wildest side of their sound.  Props to Rudy Protudi and his cohorts for pushing the boundaries of what can oftentimes be a constricting subgenre. The use of horns is a radical enough departure that the group could run the risk of alienating its fan base, but it’s a worthy excursion.  Remastered, natch.  



GROUP INERANE - GUITARS FROM AGADEZ (MUSIC OF NIGER)






Group Inerane is the now sound of the Tuareg Guitar Revolution sweeping across the Sahara Desert and inspired by the rebel musicians that started this music as a political weapon used to communicate from the Libyan Refugee camps in the 1980s and 1990s. Spearheaded by the enigmatic guitar hero Bibi Ahmed, Group Inerane has been together for several years and carries the rich tradition of Tamachek guitar songs for another generation. These ten tracks are a combination of amplified roots rock, blues, and folk in the local Tuareg styles at times entering into full-on electric guitar psychedelia. This music is performed with two electric guitars, a drum kit and a chorus of vocalists.

    When Music Maker Foundation took the latest version of our Music Maker Blues Revue to the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival in Colorado, the band included a guitar player and singer from Atlanta named Hermon Hitson. He was brand new to the Music Maker family, but he had a musical track record of more than 50 years, playing with the likes of Jimi Hendrix, James Brown and many others.
